Welcome to my room!

The new school year is here so get ready to learn. We have an exciting year ahead of us. We will be spending each day learning about the world around us, as well as having some fun. Students will become explorers as we take a trip around the world. We will jump into the world of science and find out how sounds are made as well as how sound travels. Mathematicians will be born as we learn to add, subtract, measure, and tell time. It will be an exciting time, and we invite all of the parents to join us.

Where we are going and what we are doing!

Our first field trip will be on October 25th. We will be taking a trip to the Blankety-Blank farm for a day at the pumpkin patch. The bus will leave at 9:00 a.m. and will arrive back at school at 2:30.

For more information on the trip, go to the information page.

Myron Uhlberg Arrives!

I am excited to announce the arrival of author Myron Uhlberg to our classroom. Mr. Uhlberg is the author of five award winning childrens books including My Dad, Jackie, and Me and The Printer. Mr. Uhlberg grew up in New York City and is the son of two deaf parents. His stories tell of the times that he had growing up, such as the blizzard of ''47 and trips to the ballpark with his father.
Mr. Uhlberg will spend the day with our class. He will read some of his books to the students, as well as answer any questions that the class might have. He will also help with a writing workshop that we will have. This visit will go along with our study of sign language in the classroom.

The date of the visit will be announced soon.
